In a world full of quick fixes and mass production, Made True is MT Trim Co’s way of slowing down and spotlighting what’s real — the people behind the process. The makers, builders, designers, and dreamers who don’t just work with their hands, they work with passion.
But first, who is behind MT Trim Co?

We are Matt and Teresa (Traci), a husband-and-wife creative duo. That’s right, MT Trim Co is just the two of us. It’s easy to think that we are a big outfit since we push out weekly projects and have a decent online following, but the truth is: we are a small business with big heart.
Matt is our founder and lead carpenter. He’s been building since the Lincoln Log days, but has been getting paid for it for the last 20 years. Beyond seeing and knowing what will look great in a space, he also has a knack for what sounds good. That’s right, this craftsman is also a musician who will play your baby grand in his work clothes. Traci is our marketing director and creative guru. She has 20 years of marketing experience, managing teams and campaigns at the international level. She is also an artist and designer. So basically, she makes everything look pretty.

Together, how we work is a direct reflection of how we were raised. Matt’s parents balanced life as educators and carpenters — blending craftsmanship with mentorship — and it shows in the way he leads with intention and connects with clients. Traci grew up watching her parents run honest, hardworking small businesses, where integrity mattered just as much as success. Their commitment to quality and care instilled in her a marketing approach rooted in empathy and genuine connection. Combined, our upbringings laid the foundation for how we operate today: with skill, passion, and character in every project.
What is Made True?

Made True is a storytelling blog series by MT Trim Co that highlights real makers doing exceptional work in the world of woodworking, trades, design, and creative entrepreneurship. Each feature takes you beyond the surface — from their workshop routines to their big leaps of faith, favorite tools, and personal wins. Craftsmanship isn’t just in the work — it’s in the story.
We’re not just showing off finished builds (though those are great, too). We’re spotlighting the grit, the growth, and the moments that define the maker’s journey. And by doing so, we are fostering a sense of community.
Who We Feature
We celebrate solo builders, shop owners, side hustlers turned full-timers, and everyone in between. Whether they’ve been in the trade for 100 years or just picked up a drill last summer, Made True is about passion, purpose, perseverance, and the pride that comes with building something with your own two hands.
Why It Matters
Because these stories inspire.
Because someone out there is just getting started.
Because knowledge sharing empowers future generations.
Because community matters, especially in the trades.
